A Peek at Next Weeks Sales

Thanks to Hip2Save.com I got have a good idea of the sales for this coming week and what coupons they should be paired with.  The CVS sale is split since the holiday falls on Wednesday.  Check your paper to see what is on sale all week and what is only on sale until 7/3.  There will be a new CVS ad that comes out on Wednesday for the second part of the week.
A lot of the things on sales at the different stores produce a register reward of some sort.  Try making your list for that store so that you use the register rewards from the first transaction towards the second and so forth.  You would be surprised how far register rewards can go.

Missing Coupons....

On and off I have been buying the New York Metro papers, both the New York Post and Daily News, on a Sunday to get the coupons that did not come in my Connecticut Post.  This past Sunday I did not head to the store and buy my two papers.  As I am heading out I figured I would check my lists and grab the coupons I needed.  I struck out.  The lists have coupons from this past weeks inserts, however my inserts didn't have the stated coupons that is the frustrating part about regional coupons.  We might not get the coupons.
Lesson learned on a Sunday check to see if I have the coupons for that weeks sales before the day is done.  If not and it is really worth it, head out and check the New York papers.  The hard part is you never know what sales will be coming in the next few weeks.  Maybe it is worth it to pick up at least one of the New York papers just to have a variety of coupons.

Clearance Time

It seems like every store I have been in the past few days is marking down things.  Toys r Us, Walmart, Target I have seen various things marked down.  In my opinion some items are still priced on the higher side.  Others however could turn out to be a great bargain.

I have not actually been to CVS or Rite Aid yet this week, but from an e-mail I received from Hip2Save I know the following has been found on clearance.  If it's not marked at your store, scan it.  Clearance items do vary from store to store as well as clearance prices.

Rite Aid seems to have quite a few things marked down.  Check it out:

Old Navy and Bath and Body Works Sales

On this Saturday, June 30th, Old Navy will have their yearly Flip Flop Sale.  You can get flip flops for $1.00.  It is select styles and colors, but still a great price for flip flops for the beach for the family..  I have never gone first thing when the store opened and have always found the sizes that I was looking for.

Currently going on at Bath and Body Works is there Big Semi-Annual Sale with up to 75% off Select Items.  I normally find about this sale too late and the shelves are pretty clear.  What I found interesting this year was that they have been bringing back past favorites.

Scattered Shopping This Week

I am back to my regular internet speed...Hooray!!!  I took a look at this weeks sales and gathered my own personal shopping list from Couponmom.com.  I wasn't overly impressed with the sales at one specific store this week.  Over the next few days I will be posting some deals to check out when you head out shopping this week.

The one item that appeared at just about every store this week was Bayer Aspirin.  Some Smart Source inserts from yesterday's paper had a $3.00 off Bayer coupon.  My paper did not have it.  However, if mine did  I would check out Walmart's prices on Bayer first.  It would appear that Walmart has a 32ct bottle of aspirin for under 2.50.  If you used the $3.00 off coupon that would give you at least a .50 overage to apply to something else.

Since I am talking about Walmart take a look at these seven items and the coupons you can match them up with.  Remember that prices could vary from state to state or I have even found from town to town.

Heinz Distilled White Vinegar, 16 oz $1.14, Regular Price

Cutter Citronella Candles $0.97, Regular Price
Use $1.00/1 – Cutter Products – (facebook.com)
Final Price: $0.03 Moneymaker
Ball RealFruit Pectin Flex Batch, 0.4 oz $0.97, Regular PriceUse $1.00/1 Ball RealFruit Pectin or Food Mix from SS 6/3
Final Price: $0.03 Moneymaker
Black Flag Fly Paper, 4 ct $0.98, Regular PriceUse $1.00/1 Black Flag Product from RP 6/3 Or $1.00/1 Black Flag Product from RP 4/15
Final Price: $0.02 Moneymaker
Sierra Mist, 2 liter $1.00, Regular PriceUse $1.00/1 – Sierra Mist, any – (facebook.com)Final Price: Free
If you look at the list above the Heinz Vinegar is going to cost .14, but continue down the list some if you purchased everything on this list before the vinegar you would have a .10 overage.  By picking up one bottle of Vinegar you would only be paying .04 plus any tax for the seven items.  That is one way to use your overage wisely.

A week off

I have to take a break from the blog for this week.  My internet is on the slower side this week.  If I am able to take some time to get a post together I will, if not I will be back posting by Monday.

If you happen to come across a good deal, get a great bargain or just want to share your shopping experience with me I would love to hear about it.

Have a good week!

I Did It!!!!

I went to Shop Rite today on a mission.  I returned $1.10 worth of bottles and cans headed into the store with my bottle refund receipts tucked safely into my binder.  Off to get the items on my list.  First stop Cereal aisle.  Oh no the spot for the Kix that is $1.88 is empty.  Have no fear all I had to do was walk a few steps to the front of the stores end cap display of the 4 General Mills Cereals that on sale this week.  Pick up my one box.  Hmm....I really want to test this to see if they just double my coupon to the amount of the item or double the face value of the coupon which will produce overage.  So, I set out to get a few more things.  I separate  it into two transactions.
Transaction 1 has:
1 Box of Kix $1.88
1 Bag of Sage Valley White Cheddar  Snack .99
1 bottle of Shop Rite Liquid Cleanser 1.49

I purposely put things up that I knew I might have had to pay a little out of pocket for.

Coupons Used:
.75   Kix Cereal Coupon that was loaded on my card (Will Not Double)
.75   Kix Manufacturer's Coupon  (Doubles)
.05   Canvas Bag Refund
1.10 Bottle Refund

Total  Out of Pocket with Tax $1.05
Total Saved 5.56 for a 84% savings

I did what I set out to accomplish.  Found out that with the e-coupon and MF Coupon, I did in fact have overage that just made the total that much less.  Also....drum roll please....I got my first box of Cereal completely FREE!!!!

Cereal

One thing I have never been able to get free is cereal.  Yeah maybe with using Register Rewards to pay for the item I might have got a few boxes of cereal for nothing out of my pocket.
This week shopping at Shop Rite that is all about to change for me.  This week Shop Rite has four General Mills cereals on sale for 1.88.  Coupons.com has a coupon for .75 off one box of Kix, which just so happens to be included in the Shop Rite sale.  Also if you have a Shop Rite card you can load coupons from the Shop Rite website onto your card.   Shoprite.com has .75 coupon off one box of Kix that to you can load to your card.  So after all is said and done you should have one box of Kix cereal that you got for free.  I plan on doing this today...I will let you know how it works out for me.  If you happen to see me at Shop Rite doing a little dance at the check out you know I got the cereal for FREE.

While reading Shop Rite's couponing policy I noticed a link regarding Fraudulent coupons.  It is sad to say, but not all links for printable coupons have valid coupons.  Sometimes a person alters them, posts them on the net, someone searches for a coupon for a specific item and stumbles across the fraudulent one.  Check the coupons you are printing off the net against this site http://www.couponinformationcenter.com/index.php

A look back at my shopping

I recently received an e-mail asking me if I would show some people how they can shop completely for free.  This e-mail got me thinking.  What have I really gotten for free?  How much do I get free after Register Rewards?
I know I am going to miss things since I have never wrote it all down until this blog, but here I go...
In no specific order my FREE things:

Lotion both from both Bath and Body works and other stores
Scotch Tape
Pens
Deodorant
Razors
Shaving Cream
Dental Floss
Tooth Brush
Tooth Paste (?)
Make-Up Brush
Contact Solution
Cat Food
Cat Treats
Rice
Macaroni
Sharpie Marker
Panty Liners
Bayer Aspirin
Lip Balm

I know there were more things I got completely free, but this is all I can think of at the moment.  If you work your overage right you would be surprised at what you could get for free.

Target vs Walmart Sales

I went to Target with my son yesterday.  He was looking  to price a few things there and while I was there I decided to try and pick up some things on my list.  I could not find the clearance Method detergent, if anyone happens to run across this let me know which Target you found it.  I did find the Garnier Fructis Shampoo on sale for 2.84, after coupons I only paid .84 cents for it. Not bad!!
I picked up two boxes of the Kotex Naturals 18ct Liners, but ended up putting them back after I consulted my other store lists.  Since Target prices are regional the Target I went to did not have them priced at .99, but 1.04 each.  After consulted my list I saw that at Walmart has liners for only .94(I have seen various posts about different counts for the same price) if I buy two and use my $2.00 off/2 boxes I would have a 12 cent overage.  So I guess I will be heading to Walmart this week.  Wonder what I will apply the overage to....

If you are heading to Walmart check out these deals.

Some Good Sales at Target

Last week I found most of the sales to be blah, but this week it's a totally different story.  Most if not all of the stores I usually frequent have some good sales worth going for.  Before I get to this weeks Target deals, I want to show you how important it is to compare prices.  I saw Nutella 13oz jar listed at both Target and Rite Aid.  The starting price for the same 13oz. jar varied Target 3.49 where Rite Aid appears to have it on sale for 2.99.  If you pair the sale price with the $1.00 off coupon from the 5/6 Red Plum insert you could be enjoying your Nutella for only 1.99.  Sounds like a good deal to me.

There are so many good sales at Target I recommend you checking out a complete list at Couponmom.com, hip2save.com, Krazycouponlady.com
