As I was thinking about today, what I was going to type and that I should really cut and file some coupons. I realized that one important thing about couponing is organization. If you know you have a coupon for a certain item, but can't seem to find it, the coupon is in a sense useless. So how exactly do I organize my coupons?
I'm going to take you back to when I first started couponing I had a small white, index card holder box for my coupons. My father had a larger black box to hold his coupons. His plan was he would eventually have enough coupons for the box. Well his couponing was short lived. I grew out of my coupon box and into his.
Last year I started growing out of my box. I happened to find some clear boxes with a lid on clearance at Staples. This box worked for a bit, but I was getting frustrated that it was taking so long for me to find the coupons I was looking for. I was digging my feet in the ground about spending money to help me save money. However, soon after Christmas I caved, I bought some baseball card pages, tabbed dividers and used a binder I already had. I was determined to get organized. I set up my binder with what worked best for me. Started bringing it most places I went and was amazed at how much easier a coupon binder was than a coupon box. The only adjust I made to my binder was buying one that the pages were able to turn freely in. With the ease of the binder, I don't think I will ever go back to a coupon box.
How do you organize your coupons?
