Rotate Your Coupons

As I am sitting here trying to catch up with my coupon cutting I am noticing many of the coupons have expired.  How did that happen???  I have a bad habit of putting the newest coupon inserts on top for me to cut leaving the oldest to sit on the bottom of the stack.
Have you ever noticed that on the edge of the inserts they are dated?  Try and sort your stack of coupons so that the oldest insert date is on top and the newest is on the bottom.
I have noticed that the coupons cycle.  Let's use Colgate for example.  When a Colgate coupon is getting ready to expire there is normally a new coupon that comes out a week before the first expires, the day it expires (if it happens to be a Sunday) or the week after .  If you use the newest coupon that expires 5/13 and on the bottom of your pile before you use the one that expires 3/31 you more than likely won't have one that will bridge the gap between the two expiration dates.  Now you if sorted your stack of coupons then cut the oldest first you would use the one that expires on 3/31 and still had the one that expires 5/13 in reserve.
