By creating this blog I want to share my experiences with using coupons, saving money and ways to save with others. My goal is that I would like my readers to take away at least one tip away from here and apply it to your life. If you enjoy this blog and the posts you experience here, share this site with your friends and family.
So many coupons come in the newspaper inserts each week, yet you probably do not use all of them. I tend to cut all of the coupons and put them in my binder. The reason being I know that in weeks to come the items might be on sale and I will be able to use the coupon. However there are many times that when I'm cleaning out my binder that I am throwing away a decent size pile of coupons.
How can I or you avoid throwing out so many? Some library's have baskets to put coupons in that patrons and go through and take what they want. I have heard of these, but haven't really looked for them in my library.
More and more people are using coupons. I find myself putting coupons aside for different ones who could use them. For me I like that I can help others potentially save by giving them coupons they could use.
This has me thinking...It would be great to find a group of people to exchange coupons with. Find others who coupon in your area. Keep an open dialogue going with them and put coupons aside or exchange coupons they use for something you use.
If you are not friends with the entire world on social media post an "In such of" post with what coupon you are looking for. If someone responds that they have it ask them if they would like any coupons in return. This is one way to get what you are looking for and also help someone else out.
Do not go to Ebay or offer to pay someone for your sought after coupon.

How many times have you been in a store when they asked you for your phone number or e-mail address? I can say for myself certain stores ask me every time I purchase something from the store. Sometimes I give it to them, others I don't.
One time I asked what the point of this was. The reason I got was interesting. It is to get exclusive offers and coupons e-mailed or sent to you. I tend to find this to be true. Especially when I received these in the mail yesterday from Bath and Body Works yesterday.
I will definitely use the FREE item coupon. I try to use these every time I get them. I head in get my free item. I might browse around to see what else they have, but I normally I stick to my plan and just get what is FREE.
I do the same with Victoria Secrets. Every so often I get FREE underwear coupons. The majority of the time they do not require an additional purchase. I head in get my free underwear, sometimes give them my e-mail address and leave.
My thinking is that by supplying them in the first place with e-mail address or phone number is how I started receiving these coupons. However, it may not be. I did place an order that got sent to my house at both places.
Whatever the reasoning I do enjoy getting my mail and seeing coupons like the above just waiting for me.
It seems like you get settled into a routine and you're thrown some curve balls to shake that nice little routine up.
How do you handle it? Do you hit the ground running? Do you go about the interrupted day trying not to kick and scream along the way?
I try and go for a walk a few times a week, yeah then life gets in the way. I try and blog before noon each day, then my morning gets busy and I don't have time to sit down and compose anything.
Try and not let the curve balls frustrate or deter you too much. It could be very easy to get distracted or deterred.
You will always have things to do, people to see and tasks to complete. Make lists of the top things that really NEED to be done tomorrow, by the end of the week, or in a certain time frame. Some things you might just need to let go and say "There really is just not enough hours in the day."
Don't really have time to put your new coupons in your binder. Put the new insert in your binder, take the binder with you, flip through it quick to see if anything you are buying is in there. Can't find the coupon then at least try and get items that are on sale. Sometimes that's what I do when I just don't have the time.
Try and take a few minutes each day to do something peaceful, you enjoy, or different. Basically enjoy life and everything it has to offer
Don't stress. Instead be thankful for what you have accomplished today.

I've been asked by people "How Many Newspapers Should I Buy?" How do I really answer that one???
Truly it varies per person. I personally get four sets of coupon inserts per week. Some of the inserts come from my newspaper subscriptions. One insert comes from someone I know who saves the coupon inserts for me.
When I get my subscription newspaper delivered on a Saturday besides looking at the ads for that week I take a look at what coupons are in there. I see if for my family it makes sense for that week to head to the store to pick up more newspapers or not.
For the most part I am satisfied with the 4 sets of inserts. There are times I do head out and purchase 6 or 8 papers, but this is normally only when there is a coupon for an allergy medicine that I use.
I am not going to be like some who tell you, you should purchase no less then 10. No, maybe 10 is too much for your household. Keep in mind when you are purchasing the papers, if you purchase 10 and only use coupons from 6 of the inserts you wasted $2 or more on a paper you didn't even touch.
My suggestion to you would be to purchase two newspapers. See if you find during sale times that you really could have used more of a certain coupon. If that is the case then maybe you want to increase it to three. Only you know what will work for you, your time, money and family. All I can do is make suggestions.
Is there one newspaper that is better than the other to buy? It really depends on what coupons you and your family use. Flip through the papers and look at the inserts, you might be surprised to find that the paper that cost $1.75 has the perfect coupons for you. On a side note I have heard of people arranging with stores or gas stations that at close on Sunday or first thing Monday morning the store or gas station will give them whatever left over coupon inserts the store has left.

Over the past few days I have been in many different stores. Besides noticing that the stores are ready for Halloween...and for some even Christmas there was one thing they all had in common. Clearance.
Let's take a look at them
Barnes and Noble while I was there yesterday they were setting up tables to put their Clearance Boxes on. From past experiences I know you can get some things really cheap from those boxes. Keep your eye out for all the goodies that will be appearing in those boxes.
Big Y has tables of Merchandise marked down for various reason.
Christmas Tree Shop it seemed like everywhere I looked something was on clearance. The majority of what I saw marked down were items you would use during the summer or what people might consider summer themed. Outside big pots, glass cutting boards and so much more I ran across.
CVS has their summer time items clearanced and probably more that I did not see.
Target what's not on clearance there. Ok no seriously, every department has clearance sections, tables, shelves, etc. I noticed clothing racks 30 % off, big boxes of diapers 15 % off and more. The clearance percentages vary per department.
You can get a head start on back to school shopping for next year since the over abundence of back to school supplies Target brought in are now clearanced. I came across notebooks at .20 a piece, Binders 7.98, red pens .29 and so much more.
Some people are finding the items at Target marked down much more than what I found. This just confirms that no matter if it is Target, CVS or another store the items on clearance and clearance prices vary by store.
As you go about your shopping look for those Clearance sections in the stores you frequent there are sometimes some great finds.
