Coupons can save you if...

Coupons can save you money if you have them with you.

Over the weekend my family and I stopped at a Denny's to grab a bite to eat.  I didn't even look at my binder for a coupon since I know I did not have a Denny's coupon in there.  That same day we went shopping I didn't have any coupons I could use on the items we purchased.  Trust me I flipped through my coupons even while standing in the check out line.

The next day I actually opened the newspaper that came the day before with the coupons in it.  Guess what, there was a Denny's coupon and a coupon for Land O' Lakes Butter which we had purchased.  The paper was in the car at both the Denny's parking lot and the grocery stores.  I had yet to open it.

If only I had opened it like I normally do, flipped through it I would have known to grab the Denny's coupon and possibly would have remembered the Land O' Lakes coupon at the checkout.

It's great that you have so many coupons, but they don't do you any good if you leave them in the car or at home.  You can't save that way.

If you haven't had time to clip the most recent coupons you printed or received in the newspaper take them with you before you leave the house.  You don't want to be one of those people who say, "I have a coupon for that at home."
