Extreme Couponing vs. Just Savings

After talking to a friend last night about deals she did last week, I realized I have only been bringing you extreme deals and savings. It truly is not realistic to think every shopping trip can result in extreme savings.

I am more likely to tell you about the free box of Pirate's Booty you can get this week at Stop and Shop, then I am about Target having Scrubbing Bubbles cleaners on sale.

Why is that? Maybe to impress. Maybe to wow you. See this week (8/1-8/7) Stop and Shop has Pirate's Booty Mac and Cheese on sale 2 for $3.00. If you print a .75 off 1 box of Mac and Cheese coupon from here look at the very bottom for the word coupons, you will find the coupon there. You will score a box for free. That's awesome, why can't everything we buy result in savings like this. I haven't found a way to have all my shopping trips result in such awesome savings.

Let's now take the Scrubbing Bubbles sale at Target. While I was picking up my free items yesterday I stopped by the cleaning supplies aisle to price something we ran out of. I didn't have all my coupons with me so I didn't pick it up. I was pleasantly surprised to see that what I need is on sale. I did not check to see what the full price was because I know it is something we need and all that I was hoping for was a sale. Eureka I found the sale and found a $1.00 off coupon here . I will definately be heading back to Target with my coupon and Target red card in hand to take advantage of the scrubbing bubbles sale.  (You don't need a red card to take advantage of the sale, but you do save an extra 5% on most items purchased with the card).

I just brought you two totally different deals resulting in two different amounts in savings. The only thing they both have in common is that with both you save. The percentage saved varies, but the important part is you saved.

From now on I am going to try and balance my posts between extreme savings and just savings. You can thank my friend for this. If you won't I will. Thanks friend, I think you know who you are.

Happy Savings All!
